Description

12oz

Your reusable Keepcup is made to last. Each component has been carefully considered in regards to purpose, materials and end of life when creating our products.

Keepcups are especially designed to facilitate reuse – the press on lid is the result of precise engineering and manufacturing, to increase ease of use in busy cafe environments for those who make and drink coffee.

Glass – made from tempered soda lime glass; it is durable, shock resistant, dishwasher safe and can withstand high temperatures. Although the glass is toughened, it is breakable so make sure to still take care of your Keepcup.

Keepcup independently test their glass annually to ensure it is tempered to standard, as well lead and cadmium free.

The Lid – is made from BPA free plastic that is also recyclable, but it has been specifically chosen as this particular material reduces waste when the Keepcups are being made. This plastic is also extremely durable, lightweight and fit for purpose.

Cork Bank – Natural, renewable and biodegradable, cork is one of the most sustainable materials on earth – it’s harvested from living trees!

These cork bands are upcycled from the waste by-product of wine cork production in Portugal. They are water resistant, antibacterial and heat resistant.

And at end of life, cork can be sustainably disposed of – you can add it to your compost!

Silicone – The silicone used is BPS and BPA free. The base material of silicone is sand, however because it sets with heat, once the molten silicone material is set, it cannot be re-molded.

Silicone cannot be recycled in domestic recycling, but it is also durable and extremely useful, what makes it better is that it can be used to replace disposable, single use materials.

How To Use

Be gentle – don’t use abrasive materials or cloths when cleaning.

For everyday use a quick rinse will do it – but it is recommended to give a thorough clean once a week.

Keeping your KeepCup clean makes the coffee experience better and healthier experience for you and your barista – make sure you hand over a clean cup.

Our lids, plugs, silicone bands and cup components are durable, and designed to be easy to care for. All are dishwasher safe on the top shelf.

Cork

Cork endures best with gentle handwashing. Removing the cork band risks breaking or cracking as it bumps over the glass indent. Do not remove the band for general cleaning.

Washing the cork band can cause it to expand and loosen. Just rest it upside down (on the glass tumbler) in a warm place to restore shape.

If you need to remove and replace your cork band, take the lid off the coffee cup and flip upside down so the bottom is facing up. Carefully and gently lift the cork upwards towards the bottom. Replace by doing the same action but downwards from the bottom to the top of the glass.

Heating

KeepCups can withstand microwave heat – with the lid off, always – to 100°C / 212°F degrees.

Exceptions: lid, clear plastic, cork.

Extreme heat will warp plastic. If a cup is squashed in the dishwasher or left too long in the microwave, it may change shape.

We would recommend heating your coffee/milk/water in a jug first and then pouring into the glass.
