This mascara cake is designed for sensitive eyes, handmade in the UK using only natural and vegan ingredients. Bain & Savon also use a broad spectrum 100% organic preservative to avoid long term microbial growth.
Why Choose Natural
It is important to remember this is a completely natural mascara that doesn’t contain polymers or plastic in any shape or form. Polymer is what they typically put in your standard mass produced mascaras, this ingredient is what coats your eyelashes, providing a film like effect which lengthens and thickens your eyelashes. This same plastic ingredients is what allows the mascara to dry onto your eyelashes and maintain it’s staying power.
It is very important to know natural mascara will never have the same effect as synthetic mascaras that contain polymers, but natural mascara is far better for your skin, eyelashes and of course the environment.
How To Use
To apply, first moisten the brush. Roll the brush back and forwards along the cake and apply to your lashes. Apply as many coats as required for your look,.
It doesn’t come with a mascara wand, but you can save one from an old tube of mascara to re-use, just clean it thoroughly before using.
This eco-friendly mascara cake works with a lash curler before applying.
Note: Like all mascaras, it is important that you use this homemade mascara wisely. Ensure to clean your mascara wand before each use. Homemade mascara should also be disposed of if found to smell different, strange, or especially pungent. It is unlikely and unusual, but all mascara does have the capability to grow bacteria.
Use within 6 months of opening.
The metal tin is fully recyclable, however the tin can be reused for storing seed for the garden or I use these small tins for taking earring studs away with me on holiday so I don’t lose them.
The label on the tin is plastic due to legal requirements regarding the ingredients list, it needs to be indelible.
Please note – The label is made from paper, however the adhesive may not be biodegradable, we are working with our suppliers on this and they will be moving over to 100% biodegradable labels in the future.
|Dimensions||50 × 30 × 10 mm|

How To Use
This is a 100% natural, vegan mascara cake so it does work differently to commercial mascaras. As with most natural and zero waste make up options they require a little more time and skill to apply. But if you give it the time with an open mind then you will love using this mascara.
First, make sure you use a clean mascara wand.
Moisten your mascara brush, roll it back and forth on the mascara cake really well.
It is finding the balance of using the right amount of water, too little water and you will struggle to mix the mascara, use too much water and it will be too watery and won’t stick to your eyelashes.
Once you have loaded the wand with the mascara working into your lashes to smooth out.
You can apply as many coats as you would like to build volume and length.
