Certified Organic Soap Nut Shells
What Are Soap Nuts
Living Naturally’s soapnuts or soapberries are dried fruit shells harvested from organically wild-crafted (free from pesticides and not contributing to deforestation) soapberry trees from rural forests in India. These soapnuts contain natural soap called saponin which is released when in contact with water. They have wonderful cleaning properties, all without the use chemicals such as phosphates and SLS! Natural soap that actually grows on trees, you can’t get more eco-friendly than that!
Our soapnuts are 100% biodegradable, vegan and natural, they are ideal for sensitive skin as they are hypoallergenic, odourless and come from pure nature. Living Naturally’s soapnuts are certified USDA organic and collected from sustainable sources, unlike commercial soaps, soapnuts won’t harm your skin or the environment making them the a perfect natural alternative to conventional detergent and synthetic soaps.
Soapnuts are so fascinating, they have natural anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties while naturally softening, which is why they make such good skincare and laundry soap. Soapnuts are completely sustainable as the seeds can be replanted, it is only the shells that are used and during collection the trees are not harmed or damaged in any way!
How To Use
Put approx 4-6 in the accompanied muslin bag, add a few drops of essential if you want to add scent to your laundry. Close the bag and pop into the washing machine with your clothing. You can use the same bag of soap nuts 5-6 times before putting them in the compost. Once they start to turn grey and soft that’s when you replace them.
Boil 15-20 soapnuts with 6 cups of water for 20 mins, then add another 2 more cups of water, boil for a further 10 minutes. Once again add 2 more cups of water and boil for 10 more minutes. Strain the liquid and allow to cool. You must keep this soapnut liquid in the fridge. It will last up to two weeks.
You can use liquid soapnut for shampoo, face wash, multi-purpose cleaner and natural pesticide.
