About Primal Suds
Primal Suds began with the idea of making vegan soap that was made entirely from natural ingredients with no toxins or chemicals just pure suds from good old nature. Based In Southampton, England where they hand make these natural soaps, they have grown from making small batches of soap for themselves to providing others who are also concerned with the chemicals and toxins in commercial soaps.
Primal suds use a mixture of natures oils (palm oil excluded) such as sustainable coconut oil for it’s anti fungal and anti bacterial properties, it’s also great for moisturising and nourishing the skin. Olive oil is also used for it’s rich anti-oxidant properties, rapeseed oil, which Primal Suds use as an alternative to palm oil, lathers well and is far kinder for our skin and the environment. Shea butter is key for hardening the soap but also has wonderful moisturising properties.
Different clay and charcoal are what gives Primal Sud vegan soaps their natural absorbing properties which detoxify the skin by drawing out toxins. The variation of clay, charcoal and natural exfoliates; chia, tea, oats and hemp will smooth the skin, leaving it soft and invigorated, which also colour the soap naturally (no added colours). A mixture of natural essential oils are what gives Primal Suds their vibrant scents, this company doesn’t use any artificial colours or fragrances!
Primal suds natural soaps are 100% biodegradable as is their packaging, there is no plastic whatsoever. These are paraben and SLS free soaps which are all vegan and none of the ingredients have been tested on animals, they are completely cruelty free. Primal Suds are wonderful to work with, they truly care about what they put into their products and want to make their natural vegan soaps accessible for everyone!
How It's Made
Primal Suds make their soap with the historic hot process method using activated charcoal for it’s health benefits. This method was chosen as a way to commemorate a time when the first soaps known to man were created by our ancestors, back then soap makers also just used pure natural ingredients!
Lye is used to make all soaps, you can’t make soap without it and natural soap has always been made this way. So of course Primal Suds use Lye otherwise there would be no soap suds. Lye is Sodium Hydroxide, mixed with water to make an extremely alkaline solution, when added to the fats it undergoes the transformation into soap. Once the process is finished no lye remains in the finished product, it’s changed into soap.
