This coconut oil dog soap bar by The Dog and I is handmade using the Hot Process Method in Dorset, UK. The coconut oil gives a high foaming and highly cleansing soap which is perfect for those dirty paws, mucky muzzles and matted fur a thorough clean, leaving it soft and fresh.
This coconut oil soap contains nothing but coconut oil, lye, water, poppy seeds for added ‘grip’ and pure essential oils which have been specifically selected for their insect repelling properties. Blended with lemongrass, spearmint, peppermint and citronella essential oils for that refreshing scent and effectiveness against unwanted pests.
All of The Dog And I soap bars only have a very small amount of essential oils, approximately half that recommended for humans which is the recommended level for dogs.
**ESSENTIAL OILS MUST NOT BE USED ON CATS, PREGNANT DOGS AND PUPPIES**
We do have an unscented dog shampoo bar which is ideal for those above.
This solid dog soap bar is sent wrapped in tissue paper with a card label tied around the soap with natural twine which is biodegradable.

How To Use
Make sure your dog’s coat is nice and wet with warm water.
Rub the dog soap bar directly onto the fur in circular motion, make sure you are really lathering up the soap and spreading around evenly.
Really rub the soap in, you can always use your hands instead if you prefer, especially when you get the face and more delicate areas.
Once you have really made sure you have got all the fur nicely covered and soap rubbed in, use warm water (not too hot) to rinse thoroughly. Making sure there is no soap left in the fur.
Use a doggie towel to dry your furry friend as much as possible.
About The Dog And I
With a love of animals comes a love for the environment and its preservation. The Dog and I always want to ensure they are taking care of the planet and all it’s furry inhabitants. With this in mind minimising unnecessary packaging it top priority for this company, all of their products are in containers that can be recycled or in the case of their soaps are bio-degradable.
None of The Dog and I products are tested on animals other than once they are 100% happy with them! They then first test them on themselves, and then on their own own dogs. All of this is after copious amounts of research.
These are beautifully made dog skincare products that will keep your furry friend lovely and clean, they even offer healing balms to help protect and sooth your dog’s paws, nose and skin!
Why Choose Natural
Let’s face it, dogs don’t know what what we are putting on their skin or fur which is why it is important we choose carefully what products to use. It is down to us after all to take care of them and give them the best life possible.
Many commercial dog shampoos actually contain many types of synthetic chemicals to make that coat unaturally shiny and soft. But at what price…these chemicals can actually be quite harmful and harsh on your dogs skin, but of course your dog will most likely lick this freshly washed fur and skin meaning those chemicals will then end up inside their little bodies!
Not only are all these synthetic chemicals unhealthy for your dog, but those same chemicals are also being washing down the drain which will most likely end up in the sea, streams and rivers! This is a form of pollution we can easily prevent by choosing natural and biodegradable soaps and shampoos.
Not only are the soap bars themselves much better for the environment but they also come in biodegradable and plastic free packaging! Meaning no more plastic bottles and no more unnecessary waste.
Sure you have to put a bit more effort and elbow grease in when using solid shampoo bars but hey you can’t beat the benefits of using a natural, eco-friendly soap bar over liquid chemical dog shampoos!
