One of the questions we get asked a lot is “how do I get beautiful skin?” The answer is by drinking lots of water and choosing the right, natural skincare products for your skin type. Regardless of how old you are or what your skin is like, everyone should be following the CTM routine, that is cleanse, tone, and moisturise. These three simple steps hold the key to ensuring your skin remains soft, healthy, and supple, all you need to do is to know what to look out for in skincare products, as well as how to pick the perfect toner and cleanser
Our skin takes quite a beating each and every day. Exposed to the elements, the sun, pollution, sweat, dust, and makeup (if you are that way inclined) it is essential that we make sure to remove traces of these by the end of the day. Whilst we are asleep, our skin repairs itself by generating new cells and if it is clogged with leftover makeup and a layer of pollution from our commute, its efforts are somewhat stifled. By using a good cleanser that removes dirt and grime from your pores, you can prevent build up which leads to infection, spots, and irritation.
Toning is the process of using a liquid to rebalance the pH of your skin, whilst being sure that all debris has been removed from its surface. A liquid-based product, it is used on the skin after cleansing has taken place and it is an essential step in your skincare routine. Without toning, you fail to prepare your skin for the last step in the process- moisturising.
The last main step of any self-respecting skin routine is moisturising. Even if you have oily skin, you still need to replace the oils and moisture that cleansing and toning remove. In fact, sometimes a lack of moisture can be the reason why skin gets oily or acne prone, therefore ensuring you keep your skin hydrated is key. As well as smoothing out any possible skin issues, moisturising protects, nourishes, and takes care of your skin, helping to delay the signs of ageing as well as sorting out any underlying issues including irritation or eczema.
In this section we are going to focus on the first two steps of the steps of the process but imparting our advice on the what, the how, and the why.
