I love the summer, the smell and the warmth that comes with it. I am a Leo after all. But what comes with those hot summer days also comes the risk of burning!
Sunscreen is such a vital thing to protect us from those strong UV rays but the thought of putting it on my skin not really knowing what is was made from made me not want to wear it at all! And of course there is the plastic bottle excreting toxic chemicals into the cream while it sits innocently in the hot sun. Not anymore….there is now a healthier natural eco-friendly sunscreen, Shade!
Also did you know that sunscreen is extremely harmful to coral reefs? It can even kill young coral reefs and severely damage mature reefs! All of those nasty chemicals that are in the sunscreen will wash off your skin and into the sea where it wreaks havoc on the marine life especially coral.
Coral reefs are an important part of our ecosystem, if they all die (which sadly many of them are) we will be in serious trouble. Many other marine life if not all will also die as coral provides safe habitats, vital nutrients and food for fish as well as other sea life! Our coastlines will also be left unprotected from damaging waves and storms.
This is a huge global issue which can be helped, by making better choices we can all make a difference and help our environment. Our natural sunscreen from Shade won’t harm coral and other marine life, if it does wash off your skin into the ocean it will naturally biodegrade without releasing any harmful chemicals!
Once opened use within 12 months, if not opened it has a shelf life of 3 years.

How To Use
Apply generously at least 15 minutes before exposure, then reapply at least every 2-3 hours especially after exposure to water and sweating.
If the sunscreen is cold, firm or has a bobbly looking surface rub it with warm fingertips to soften and then apply. The bobbly surface is just the zinc oxide molecules clumping together, a natural process due to the nature of the zinc.
- 36% Shea butter
