Made using 100% organic Indian cotton the top layer is cotton flannel in a natural cotton colour, there is then 7 inner layers of natural un-dyed cotton. The coloured dyes are certified organic too.
These have a colourful purple organic cotton back material.
Rural Indian women’s collectives stitch these pads, which are then ethically traded – available to Indian women at cost price to be affordable, and sold internationally to help sustain and fund the project. By choosing Eco Femme products, you are supporting this valuable and worthwhile project. In addition, for every pack of panty liners sold, a pad is donated via the Eco Femme Pad for Pad program to an Indian girl in need who would otherwise go without!
If cared for properly your pad should last between 3-5 years if not longer, saving a lot of waste from disposable pads. These pads are made from 100% cotton and they don’t have a PUL backing so they are plastic free. However the dyes may not be biodegradable even though they are organic. But reusable pads are by far the more eco-friendly and sustainable solution to disposables.

Sanitary Pad Care
Place the purple side facing up and use popper to secure.
Change pad every 3-4 hours.
Once used we recommend you rinse them through to prevent stains, if not practical then before washing rinse through several times. If the stain still persists then we recommend using a natural stain remover such as living naturally stain stick.
The living naturally stain stick is available to buy from us.
We recommend washing the reusable pad at 40 degrees as higher temperatures may set stains in place. Don’t use fabric softner.
Once washed leave the washed pad to air dry as tumble drying can reduce the life span of the pad.
Please allow for a slight amount of shrinkage when first washed, this is due to being natural material.
Cloth vs Disposable
There is so much waste in the world from sanitary and menstrual disposables such as plastic pads and tampons! These disposables actually take hundreds of years to break down and even then they will only become tiny bits of plastic that will continue to pollute and harm the environment for what may quite be forever!
This is why it is so important that we take steps to reuse rather than dispose of, one of the easiest and best ways to do this is to choose washable cloth over disposable plastic. With cloth pads you can wash and reuse them for years and years, just imagine the amount of waste and plastic you wouldn’t have used in that time!
Honestly changing to reusable cloth pads was one of the best things I ever did and I will never go back to using disposables not only because of how bad they are for the environment but they are so uncomfortable. Cloth pads are way more comfortable to wear, you won’t regret switching to them.
