Peppermint - 15g
A soothing and nourishing lip balm that’s not too hard, not too soft, not too waxy. Over a long summer, Soap Folk tried lots of different oils and butters, in lots of combinations to formulate the perfect lip balm all year round.
Key Ingredients:
Cocoa Butter: The richness of organic cocoa butter, and its inherently chocolatey scent gave real depth to the lip balm. Cocoa butter is an emollient that is a great source of natural antioxidants. It adds a protective hydrating layer to lips, helping protect them from extreme temperatures and indoor heat that can leave your lips dried out. It also contains vitamin E which is known for its restorative skin properties and healing abilities.
Jojoba oil: A liquid wax, gives a heavier quality, without any stickiness. The waxy texture of Jojoba Oil forms a protective barrier over dry or chapped lips to lock in moisture and leave them feeling soft and smooth – even in the chilliest of weather conditions!
Carnauba wax: with its high melting point was the most obvious candidate. It’s derived from leaves of the wildly growing Brazilian palms, not to be confused with palm wax extracted from the Palm tree. In contrast to the palm oil industry, carnauba wax extraction does not require land conversion or deforestation. It can be harvested and processed without damaging its natural environment. What's more, organic carnauba wax is neither bleached or treated with any chemicals, and free from any type of pesticides. For something that you are putting on your lips, you might find this quite important.
Peppermint : Peppermint oil helps heal cracked lips, and this is the reason why this oil is an active ingredient in lip balms. The oil has a soothing effect because of menthol that's present in it, and can be used on wind-chapped or sun-burnt lip as it will give a cooling and refreshing effect on the skin.
