This Soul Bottle is completely plastic free…the bottle is made from glass, with a ceramic lid, natural rubber leak proof seal and stainless steel handle! These glass drinking bottles are lovingly made in Berlin using as local and sustainable sources as possible. Soul do not only pay attention to the materials and their origin, but also work together with suppliers that share their views and philosophy.
This design comes from Mulenga J Mulenga. She is a Zambian artist that works in Soul's WASH'n'soul project. Through her art she stitches together past, present and future, her own origin and the role of black women. She reimagines old and new narratives around the female gender: In order to build a strong and healthy community we need to educate girls and give them access to clean drinking water. Because often women are responsible for water and at the same time they are the first caregivers. Water is female and so is the future. Mulenga's lifehack for artists: material is everywhere and anything.
The ceramic silkscreen print on your soul bottle is burned on to it at around 700 degrees. It is acid, leach, and scratch-proof.
Glass used is Soda-Lime-Glass, a combination of the basic elements of “new glass” plus the recycled glass components.
Glass is the perfect material for making water bottles, it is non-leaching, chemical free and unlike plastic, which contains harmful chemicals, the glass will not retain flavours or absorb germs. Glass is also an extremely sustainable material, mainly made using sand which is in abundance, once turned into glass it is endlessly reusable and virtually infinitely recyclable.
With a swing top lid and stainless steel handle, this bottle is stunningly designed and made with care for both your health and the environment. These glass bottles give a much cleaner and healthier drinking experience!
