- Easy to clean
Description
This bio-material is a sustainable alternative to plastic, while still matching it's strength and sturdiness.
Arboblend®, also known as liquid wood, was developed in the 1990s. Various proportions of renewable raw materials give it special properties, while useful natural fibres (such as cellulose) ensure elastic strength, biopolymers (made of lignin, starch or “Green PE”), together with natural waxes, contribute to the necessary strength and coating. When it is heated up, the liquid wood is malleable, like conventional plastic, and is processed further using an injection moulding process.
This Hydrophil toothbrush mug is food-safe as well as free from mineral oil and BPA. By processing renewable raw materials and pollutant-free disposal, this material, in contrast to conventional plastics, does not contribute to a shortage of finite raw materials, such as mineral oil.

Materials
Liquid Wood
Cellulose - This makes up the fibre content of Arboblend®. Just like in the cell walls of the plants, this renewable raw material forms the basis for an elastic natural product.
Lignin - This is the main component of solid wood. Stored in a basic structure made of cellulose, this macromolecule ensures the high compressive strength and durability of Arboblend®
Natural Waxes - This penetrates the composite material, seal its surfaces and ultimately makes the toothbrush mugs so watertight, that it is easy and quick to clean.
Sugar Cane - This provides additional components, such as the so-called green polyethylene (Green PE), which also increases the strength of Arboblend® without needing to use mineral oil for example.
