Description

Bat mix wildflower seed tin by Seedball is created in collaboration with scientists at the Natural History Museum to help garden bats. Many British bat species are in decline, faced with less roosting places and declining food availability. Bats have massive appetites, and a Tiny Pipistrelle bat alone can eat over 3,00 mosquitoes a night!

Seedball bat mix contains a special mix of natural wildflowers to attract a wide diversity of insects that bats feed on, including flowers that release their fragrance in the evening when bats are most active in our gardens. This mix also has plants with a combination of long and short pollen tubes and range of colours and shapes of flower to maximise the number of insects that they attract.

Each seed ball contains approximately 30 seeds that are responsibly sourced in the UK from Flora Locale accredited suppliers. Includes borage, cornflower, corn marigold, evening primrose, night-scented stock and wallflower.

What's great about Seedballs is that the ball prevents the seeds from being eaten by birds and insects, thereby increasing the chances of your wildflowers growing. They are also super easy to use, so no digging or expert knowledge needed!

Seedballs are 100% plastic free, natural and eco-friendly - what's not to love?

Each tin of Bat Mix Seedball contains 20 seed balls, enough to cover 1 metre square in the garden bed or 3-5 medium sized pots (leave at least 10cm between each ball). For best results scatter in Spring or Autumn.

All the seeds used in Seedballs are responsibly sourced in the UK from Flora Locale accredited suppliers, only ever use peat-free compost and their steel tins are manufactured in London (with the help of a solar farm on the factory roof)

Packaging

Plastic free steel tin.

How To Use

How do I use Seedballs?

Throw onto soil or compost in a garden bed or planter in Spring or Autumn, leaving at least 10cm between each ball.

Your seedball has everything it needs to grow and, once the ball becomes moist and the temperature is right, your seeds will germinate.

What area will my Seedballs cover?

We would usually advise 20 seed balls per square metre, or 3-5 seed balls for a 35cm container.

Materials

Steel Tin

Each tin contains 20 balls and around 30 wildflower seeds per ball.

Each seed ball is made from seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chili powder.
