Description
Beetle mix seed tin by Seedball is a mix of native wildflowers that are designed to attract ladybirds and pollinating beetles. Seedball beetle mix is created in collaboration with the scientists at the Natural History Museum to help beetles. Beetles are essential and super important to our garden ecosystems so having them around is great for everyone!
Did you know that many beetles are important pollinators who pollinated the first flowers 140 million years ago at the time of dinosaurs?
Flowers in the Carrot or Umbellifer family (Apiaceae), and those with multiple flowers heads, seem to be particularly attractive - making Seedball beetle mix of flowers perfect for beetles.
Seedball beetle mix contains a stunning seed mix of Foxglove, Field Scabious, Common Knapweed, Great Burnet, Cow Parsley, Cornflower, and Yarrow.
Each seed ball contains approximately 15 wildflower seeds that are responsibly sourced in the UK from Flora Locale accredited suppliers.
What's great about Seedballs is that the ball prevents the seeds from being eaten by birds and insects, thereby increasing the chances of your wildflowers growing. They are also super easy to use, so no digging or expert knowledge needed!
Seedballs are 100% plastic free, natural and eco-friendly - what's not to love?
Each tin of beetle mix Seedball contains 20 seed balls, enough to cover 1 metre square in the garden bed or 3-5 medium sized pots (leave at least 10cm between each ball). For best results scatter in Spring or Autumn.
All the seeds used in Seedballs are responsibly sourced in the UK from Flora Locale accredited suppliers, only ever use peat-free compost and their steel tins are manufactured in London (with the help of a solar farm on the factory roof)
Packaging
Plastic free steel tin.
How To Use
How do I use Seedballs?
Throw onto soil or compost in a garden bed or planter in Spring or Autumn, leaving at least 10cm between each ball.
Your seedball has everything it needs to grow and, once the ball becomes moist and the temperature is right, your seeds will germinate.
What area will my Seedballs cover?
We would usually advise 20 seed balls per square metre, or 3-5 seed balls for a 35cm container.
Materials
Steel Tin
