Six of the Best Ingredients in Natural Soap Leave a comment

What are some of the best ingredients to look for in natural soap?

If you are looking for a more natural, gentle, and eco friendly soap, these are some of the best ingredients that we think tick all the boxes.

Are you in the market for a natural soap? Not sure what ingredients to look out for? Then look no further, here are some of our absolute favourites that we know are wonderful for you, inside and out!

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a very gentle, natural exfoliant that buffs your skin without causing any redness or irritation. Also look for products that contain oat milk which is super soothing and relaxing on irritated skin.

Charcoal

Charcoal is great because it absorbs and draws out oil from the skin. It balances the skin and cleanses it gently, leaving you feeling soft and fresh. Depending on the consistency of the charcoal used, it can also have exfoliating properties as well.

Citrus oils

Nothing smells cleaner and fresher than citrus oils such as lemon, lime, grapefruit, or orange. A few swipes with citrus scented soaps and your skin will feel super-clean and invigorated. Citrus essential oils have astringent and antibacterial properties as well- what more could you want?

Lavender

Lavender oil has been used for centuries to soothe skin and the soul, but it also has great cleansing and anti-inflammatory properties as well. It relaxes your mind and soaps containing lavender, such as this one, are great for using all over the body, including the face.

Olive oil

Olive oil has been used in soap for centuries due to its moisturising and anti-oxidant properties. It is known to repair damage caused by free radicals and sun exposure and it stimulates cell generation, and helps slow down the signs of ageing.

Coffee

As well as being an essential way to start the day, coffee is a super-effective ingredient in soap. It has exfoliating characteristics and lifts dead skin cells leaving the skin soft and clean. It also eliminates any odor that may be clinging to the skin, reduces stretch marks and can also ease the appearance of any dark spots or acne scars.

Clay

We know that natural clays are great for the skin due to their cleansing properties, so if you see a soap containing clays such as green clay, kaolin, or bentonite clay, be sure to snap them up! Green clay for example draws out impurities and nourishes the skin leaving those with dry or oily skin feeling rejuvenated.
